RWBY Volume 9

After Salem takes over Remnant, Team RWBY is forced into the void and into an unfamiliar world. This new world, the Ever After, seems to have Wonderland written all over it: a Cheshire cat, talking mice, a foreboding knight, and a jub-jub bird all make appearances.

Volume 9 also has some heavy themes, including death and destruction. Its message is that we should learn from our mistakes rather than condemn ourselves for them.

RWBY Volume 8

As the world is overrun by horrific Grimm creatures, humanity’s only hope lies with powerful Huntsmen and Huntresses. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long must train beyond the grounds of Beacon Academy and fight for their survival.

In Volume 8, our heroes’ worst fears are realized as doubt and fear splinter their remaining allies, and Salem arrives with two Relics in hand. Rooster Teeth released a teaser trailer for the new season on September 16 during its virtual convention RTX at Home.

RWBY Volume 7

New York Comic Con attendees got a look at the latest volume of Rooster Teeth’s animated series RWBY. During the panel, Miles Luna and Lindsay Jones (voice of Ruby Rose), Arryn Zech (Blake Belladonna) and Kara Eberle (Weiss Schnee) discussed what’s in store for the season.

In this volume, Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang must bring the Relic of Knowledge to Atlas, the northernmost Kingdom in Remnant. But this futuristic urban-sprawl may hide just as much danger as the Grimm-infested tundra around it.

RWBY Volume 6

The team is back together and ready to take on Remnant. But this time, their journey will be much more difficult than they could have imagined.

There’s something about the pacing and presentation of this episode that feels more solid than most other RWBY episodes. The focus on design notes and plants helps sell a bustling, yet peaceful setting that no doubt took a lot of effort to create.

RWBY Volume 5

The first four episodes of RWBY Volume 5 did a great job at moving the plot forward, thanks to the RNJR, Weiss, and Blake character arcs. But, unfortunately, Ruby Rose didn’t really get anything going on for her.

The fifth season premiered online on October 14th, 2017. It was also released as a complete version of the series on DVD and Blu-Ray. It was also accompanied by a Weiss and Blake character short.

RWBY Volume 4

After the explosion of emotions and actions of Volume 3, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long are scattered across the world of Remnant, and their journeys have begun. The cliffhanger conclusion of the Vytal Tournament and the fall of Beacon Academy ripped through all of their safety nets, leaving them with nothing to rely on but themselves and their training.

The disc opens with a Rooster Teeth trailer, and also offers two separate audio commentary tracks, one for the director, and one for an animator. Both are in lossy Dolby Digital 5.1.

RWBY Volume 3

RWBY has become Rooster Teeth's flagship property, spawning spin-offs, novels, comics, merchandise and video games. It's even gotten a DC crossover.

Volume three takes the show in a different direction, giving Ruby some character development and finally putting some stakes into Salem's pursuit of the relics. It also gave us some of the best fight scenes in the series.

Follow Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang as they train to be monster-battling warriors at Beacon Academy. Their future-fantasy world of Remnant is full of ravenous creatures and treacherous terrain.

RWBY Volume 2

The anime influenced cult hit RWBY from Austin's Rooster Teeth is getting a second volume. But this time it won't be on the show's RT First platform and will instead air on anime streamer Crunchyroll for a one year exclusive.

The quality of the animation and environmental designs has improved dramatically over the first season. The streets of Vale, the highway and Beacon Academy all look vibrant and detailed in the standard cell shading style.

RWBY Volume 1

RWBY is an action anime about four girls (Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long) who train at Beacon Academy to become Huntresses and fight Grimm. These are monsters that attack and destroy towns and cities in the world of Remnant.

The show features in-house animation by Rooster Teeth's Austin studio, with additional modeling and compositing by Monterey-based CGBot. The soundtrack was composed by Jeff Williams, with vocals by his daughter Casey Lee Williams.
